Breaking news HCT Group wins Bus and the Community Award

Source By: HCT

HCT Group has won the top accolade in the Bus and the Community Award category at the UK Bus Awards for our Drive On project for ex-offenders.

The Bus in the Community Award recognises a scheme, project or other activity which has provided benefits to local people, placing the bus industry at the heart of the local community.

HCT Group’s Drive On project aims to create a path to sustainable employment for ex-offenders as London red bus drivers, helping to tackle re-offending.

The award was collected by John Smart, HCT Group’s Chief Financial Officer, at a glittering awards ceremony in London.

Dai Powell, HCT Group Chief Executive, said “We’re really proud of Drive On and the difference it’s making. We genuinely believe that the programme is scalable and could be undertaken by any bus operator.”

Mark Yexley, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards, said: “The judges praised this courageous scheme and commended the way the project brings together highly experienced organisations.”
