Leadership Conference - City Hall - 10th November

Trustees, CEOs and Senior Managers are warmly invited to Greater London Volunteering’s Leadership Conference at the Assembly Chamber, City Hall on 10th November. 

This all-day event is completely FREE and includes a light lunch.


In addition to morning workshops including a finance masterclass and legal update, speakers and themes include:

  • Rosie Chapman talking about the new Charity Governance Code
  • Ruth Lesirge, Chair of the Association of Chairs on broader governance developments and themes
  • Patrick Vernon, Director of Black Thrive, on delivering a vision that black communities thrive and improve their mental health and wellbeing
  • Gilly Green from Comic Relief , Sara Cooney from Lloyds Bank Foundation and Jenny Field from City Bridge Trust talking about Aligned Funding and Funding+ models
  • Latest developments on the London Hub

Barretts Grove Surgery Refurbishment

Barretts Grove Surgery is delighted to announce that it has been fully refurbished. The practice team have celebrated the relaunch of refurbished practice and invited local patients, members of public and colleagues from Hackney. The event took place at practice on 19th October from 1pm to 3pm.

We were delighted to see many guests attended our event including Diane Abbott MP (Hackney North & Stoke Newington), whoaccepted our humble invitation and joined us on the day. Diane Abbott spoke with local community members, our patients and primary care colleagues. During her speech she said that General Practice is the most important point of contact for the NHS and all our health care needs. She was delighted to see a genuine family practice flourish in the locality, and continue to provide patient centred, personalised care.

During the event local services providers were present to give information about services available to the Hackney population. The health professionals from voluntary sector team included the Alzheimer’s society, Dementia support group, City and Hackney Mind, Hackney carer centre, Family action team, and the Alcohol recovery service.

Barretts Grove is a NHS doctor’s surgery serving the community of Hackney. We have been a part of the local community since 1971.

From our friendly reception team to our nurses and doctors, patient centered care is at the heart of all that we do. We offer appointments at the surgery 5 days a week, as well as telephone consultations and home visits.

We understand how busy life is, so we are pleased to offer our patients extended opening hours as follows:

Monday: 9am-6:30pm

Tuesday: 9am-7:30pm

Wednesday: 9am-6:30pm

Thursday: 9am-6:30pm

Friday: 9am-6:30pm
