Comic Relief’s Tech for Good to Launch 13th November

Comic Relief and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation have announced they will invite applications to Tech for Good 2018 from 13 November 2017.

This is the third time that Comic Relief and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation are delivering the Tech for Good funding programme. The previous two programmes funded a total of 16 initiatives, and for this round it’s expected that another 12 projects will receive support.

This is an opportunity for not-for-profit organisations that already have some technological capacity to take their digital innovation projects forward to create social change by delivering new ideas or more effective services.

To be eligible, projects should be using software and digital technology as a part of a solution that addresses any of Comic Relief's four strategy themes, which are:

  • Investing in Children and Young People.
  • Empowering Women and Girls.
  • Building Stronger Communities.
  • Improving Health and Wellbeing.

Successful applicants could expect to receive funding of between £15,000 and £47,000 for nine months alongside access to dedicated technical expertise and an intensive support programme between July 2018 and March 2019.

The funding is for projects at any stage of development, with solid user-centred research, a clear problem to address, and a compelling digital solution to achieving this. The technology may be simple or cutting edge. The funding is for new products and services that can be shared with the wider not-for-profit sector.

The programme will open for applications on 13 November with a deadline of 20 December 2017.

Further details can be found on the Comic Relief website.
